The Video module allows you to embed a video on your web page, from a URL or from a local drive.
Before we begin: Have you checked out the Focus feature? Focus provides you with a set of 20 beautiful and functional web page sections designed in the style of your template that you can add with a single click, including a Video focus!
The Video Focus attractively showcases your video by adding a call to action, title, and text area where you can describe your video. It’s all customizable, so you can tweak it to your liking.
To check out Focus, click the Focus tab in the left sidebar, and then click Add Focus and scroll through the options.
If you just want to add a simple Video player, without the added elements of the Video Focus, follow these steps to add a video module to your page:
Step 1: Open the target page
In the website builder, open the page of your site that you want to add the video to.
Step 2: Open the Modules tab
In the left sidebar menu, click on Modules:
Step 3: Locate the video module icon
In the Modules sidebar, you will see the Video module icon.
Step 4: Click and drag the video module icon onto your page
Point your mouse at the video module, click and drag it onto your page to where you want the video player to be located. Then drop it.
As you drag it around the page, you will see black lines appear, indicating the edges of the existing elements on the page. Use these lines as guides help you drop your video module in the right place. You can add spacers or other elements later to adjust its position if desired.
For this example, we will add a video to the About page in the Elenore Designs template, beneath the template’s sample content.
Below you can see the video module before it was dropped, hovering over the page. The black line indicates the top edge of the spacer that separates the content elements from the social media buttons. When the video module is dropped now, it will insert between the content elements and the spacer.
Step 5: Link to your video source
Your new video module is added to your page. The video source box will automatically open, or click the video module to open the options bar, then click the video source icon.
Tip: To move the video module around, including removing it to the trash can, click the thick black grab bar in the center-top and drag it.
For this example, we linked to a Bookmark video from YouTube:
Step 6: Video module formatting options
Once you’ve linked to your source video, you might want to change how it appears on your page. Click inside the text box to open the format options bar.
In the image below, the options bar is open, and I’ve changed the video size to “small”, set the alignment to “center” and added “small” padding.
Here’s a closer look at the options bar.
Here’s a brief description of each of these options:
Align left - aligns the video to the left of the block
Align center - aligns the video to the center of the block
Align right - aligns the video to the right of the block
Clicking this icon opens the video source box:
Size - size options are: Large, Medium, Small and Smaller
Padding is the amount of white space around your video. Your padding options are: None, Small, Medium or Large.
Step 7: Saving the changes
Once you have finished with your video, remember to click the Save button at the bottom center of the modules sidebar to save and protect your changes.
This concludes our guide How to add a video module.
