The Map module adds a Google map to your web page, where you can specify a location, name your map, and lock it if you wish.

Before we begin: Have you checked out the Focus feature? Focus provides you with a set of 20 functional web page sections designed in the style of your template that you can add with a single click.

Focus saves you time and effort by putting together some of the most common page sections, like Contact Us, About Us, social media, price table, quote box, five styles of content layout and much more. It’s all customizable, so you can tweak it to your liking.

Before you start building areas on your web page, take a look at Focus - the work might have already be done for you!

Here are the steps for adding a map module to your page.

Step 1: Open the target page

In the website builder, open the page of your site that you want to add the map to.

Step 2: Open the Modules tab

In the left sidebar menu, click on Modules:

Step 3: Locate the map module icon

In the Modules sidebar, you will see the Map module icon.

Step 4: Click and drag the map module icon onto your page

Point your mouse at the map module, click and drag it onto your page to where you want the map to be located. Then drop it.

As you drag the icon around the page, you will see black lines appear, indicating the edges of the existing elements on the page. Use these lines as guides help you drop your map module in the right place. You can add spacers or other elements later to adjust its position if desired.

For this example, we will add a map to the About page in the Elenore Designs template, beneath the template’s sample content.

Below you can see the map module before it was dropped, hovering over the page. The black line indicates the top edge of the spacer below the photo. Notice that the line only extends under the photo. This will mean that the map will only be under the photo, and won’t be the entire width of the page.

Step 5: Set the location on the map

Open the map options bar by clicking anywhere in the map module. The options bar will appear below the map. You will also see the grab bar at the top center of the map. Click and drag on this bar to move the map module on your page, or to the trash bin.

On the options bar, click the location icon:

This will open the set location box. Type or paste in the address you want to indicate on the map.

The map will zoom in to that location. For example, we entered 1 Toronto Street, Toronto, Canada:

Step 6: Other map options

Let’s look at the other options on the options bar:

Here’s a brief description of these options:

  Map marker

Clicking this icon opens the map marker box. Type in the name that you want the user to see when they hover their mouse over the location pinpoint marker.

Add the location you want your map to indicate. See Step 5 above.

Padding is the amount of white space around your gallery. Your padding options are: None, Small, Medium or Large.

  Lock / Unlock

Lock or unlock your map to your users.

Step 10: Saving the changes

Once you have finished with your map, remember to click the Save button at the bottom center of the modules sidebar to save and protect your changes.

This concludes our guide How to add a map module.
